Edward Jenner, a name we associate with making waves (Hi Caitlin!), invented the small pox vaccine in 1798. Since then, we have reduced the incidence of this illness completely. WOW! Vaccines at there time and even now are small miracles. Vaccines also bring with them some controversial baggage. With the incidence of autism rising at startling rates, parents and doctors are racing to find any connection to explain the statistic. Unfortunately, vaccines have overwhelming evidence that they are not the culprit... sorry Mom's. Even a company focused on finding the link in their research (Safe Minds) was unable to find the connection. The Journal of Pediatrics also found vaccines innocent in their 2013 Study. So did the American Medical Association in 2015.
There are a few things linked with autism that have been proven, those things are fetal testosterone levels and gender. Boys are more likely to be Autistic then women, and their is a direct correlation between their fetal testosterone levels and autism rates.
Moral of the story: Keep vaccinating your kids!!! These vaccines have wiped out highly fatal illnesses and keep our elderly alive longer. Vaccines use our own body's defenses to create an essential force field protecting you from these diseases... pretty genius. Read more here.
